Litecoin is similar to Bitcoin in many of its characteristics, and is also one of the more veteran cryptocurrencies out there. However, there are two main differences between Litecoin and Bitcoin; Speed and amount. While it takes 10 minutes to create a Bitcoin block, Litecoin demands roughly 2.5 minutes to create a block – meaning 4 times the speed. Moreover, Litecoin attracts many users as it can produce 4 times the quantity of Bitcoin! However, as Litecoin uses highly complex cryptography, often mining it is more complicated than other cryptocurrencies.
In 2018, the US Securities and Exchange Commission maintained that "if a platform offers trading of digital assets that are securities and operates as an "exchange," as defined by the federal securities laws, then the platform must register with the SEC as a national securities exchange or be exempt from registration".[22] The Commodity Futures Trading Commission now permits the trading of cryptocurrency derivatives publicly.[23]
The validity of each cryptocurrency's coins is provided by a blockchain. A blockchain is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.[23][26] Each block typically contains a hash pointer as a link to a previous block,[26] a timestamp and transaction data.[27] By design, blockchains are inherently resistant to modification of the data. It is "an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way".[28] For use as a distributed ledger, a blockchain is typically managed by a peer-to-peer network collectively adhering to a protocol for validating new blocks. Once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks, which requires collusion of the network majority.

Today you can use USDC (a stable coin) in place of the dollar on Coinbase in some instances. Although this is mostly something to keep in mind for trading on Coinbase Pro, it is important to note here given that you can buy USDC without a fee directly on Coinbase (and swap between dollars and USDC for free at any time). On some trading pairs you have to use USDC, on others you can’t. Try buying USDC with your bank account and then swapping between USDC and USD as needed. The benefit of buying USDC and USD on Coinbase is that it has no fees (as opposed to buying cryptos directly through Coinbase.Com, which can result in fees and premiums).

There are fees involved with buying from Coinbase and some types of trading on Coinbase Pro (which can in cases get lower as you buy / trade more). Other exchanges have better rates than Coinbase (for example Coinbase Pro itself has better rates). However, rarely do exchanges have a better fee schedule than Coinbase Pro. In other words, when using Coinbase specifically, you’ll pay a little bit more than market price (or sell for a bit less than market price) and pay a small fee when trading on Coinbase (this is a trade-off for ease of use). NOTES: To be clear, there are essentially two sets of fees when you buy with Coinbase. One is them charging you more per coin than on Coinbase Pro or other exchanges; the other is an actual fee (currently paid in crypto, not USD, so if you buy 1 Ether, you get a little less than 1 Ether but pay the market price). That is the price you pay for them doing all the work and taking the risk of the price changing quickly when you buy. Not a reason not to use Coinbase and only use Coinbase Pro every time, but it is something to keep in the back of your mind if you start making lots of buys.
By providing a decentralized solution, Augur allows people from anywhere in the world to ask a question about the outcome of a future event, as well as buy and sell shares on the outcome of any market they wish to participate in. Purchasing and mining cryptocurrency has evolved rapidly in recent years, and many options have captured worldwide attention. Users like the idea of cutting out third parties, such as governments and banks, and instead dealing with peers directly. For example, if a bank or company such as PayPal decided for some reason that your account had been misused, in an instant, your assets could be frozen without consulting you.
So the market keep trapping us again. Talking with my fellow buddy the trader Magicmark, he showed me something that I did´t see yet. Many says it goes to the moon, others that is totally crashing, and a we think that this is a summer 2018 déjà vu. In speculative markets, patterns repeats all over the history since those patterns are created by human emotions, do...

For stock market investors, investing in Bitcoin indirectly through a listed security such as an ETF, ETP, or trust may be suitable for those looking at taking a passive position. Active traders might find the limited trading hours and potential lack of volume a limiting factor that could hinder their trading. Overall, using listed securities that invest, track, or hold Bitcoin can be a viable alternative to diversify away from the risks of margin trading or safeguarding private keys when buying the underlying.

Cindicator is a project that is building a hybrid AI and human intelligence ecosystem that will predict movements in financial markets. They have been able to build an ecosystem that generates over 400,000 forecasts a month utilizing over 30 machine learning algorithms. Cindicator already has a working platform and they have over 115,000 analysts that are providing their predictions. Cindicator uses the wisdom of the crowd each day by sending out questions about financial and cryptocurrency markets. Analysts answer the questions and the answers are aggregated. The AI portion will come in when Cindicator has to analyse these responses in order to come up with a reasonable prediction. The analysts are studied to determine patterns and common factors. Cindicator will then use advanced data analytics models and machine learning to improve upon themselves and refine the algorithms. Cindicator has a pretty strong team component and the founders each have backgrounds in data science, trading, platform development and marketing. They also have some well-known advisors on board including Anthony Diiorio and Charlie Shrem. The native token in the Cindicator network is the ERC20 CND token. This is used in the Cindicator ecosystem to get access to the predictions. The team held a token sale in September of 2017 and was able to raise $15m for 75% of the total supply. CND tokens hit the exchanges not long after the ICO and have been quite volatile since. They reached an ATH in January of 2018 but have since traced the market lower. There is reasonable liquidity for the token however over 96% of the trading volume is taking place on the Binance exchange. Token remains very volatile so trade with caution. *Coin Bureau's views are not investment advice. Do Your Own Research.

Properties of cryptocurrencies gave them popularity in applications such as a safe haven in banking crises and means of payment, which also led to the cryptocurrency use in controversial settings in the form of online black markets, such as Silk Road.[66] The original Silk Road was shut down in October 2013 and there have been two more versions in use since then. In the year following the initial shutdown of Silk Road, the number of prominent dark markets increased from four to twelve, while the amount of drug listings increased from 18,000 to 32,000.[66]

A lot of concerns have been raised regarding cryptocurrencies’ decentralized nature and their ability to be used almost completely anonymously. The authorities all over the world are worried about the cryptocurrencies’ appeal to the traders of illegal goods and services. Moreover, they are worried about their use in money laundering and tax evasion schemes.
Among the Asian countries, Japan is more forthcoming and regulations mandate the need for a special license from the Financial Services Authority to operate a cryptocurrency exchange.[24][25] China and Korea remain hostile, with China banning bitcoin miners and freezing bank accounts.[26][27] While Australia is yet to announce its conclusive regulations on cryptocurrency, it does require its citizens to disclose their digital assets for capitals gains tax.[28]

As of November 2017, Bitcoin and other digital currencies are outlawed only in Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam, with China and Russia being on the verge of banning them as well. Other jurisdictions, however, do not make the usage of cryptocurrencies illegal as of yet, but the laws and regulations can vary drastically depending on the country.

A cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that uses cryptography for security. A cryptocurrency is difficult to counterfeit because of this security feature. Many cryptocurrencies are decentralized systems based on blockchain technology, a distributed ledger enforced by a disparate network of computers. A defining feature of a cryptocurrency, and arguably its biggest allure, is its organic nature; it is not issued by any central authority, rendering it theoretically immune to government interference or manipulation.
There is great joy in trying to buy into an average position on the top coins (but not Bitconnect https://cryptocurrencyfacts.com/2017/11/05/is-bitconnect-a-scam/) and then incrementally taking profits. There is nothing but sorrow ahead for those who go chasing unreal (and let’s stress that term in every sense) gains from things like “the Billion Coin.”
Zcash, a decentralized and open-source cryptocurrency launched in the latter part of 2016, looks promising. “If bitcoin is like http for money, zcash is https," is one analogy zcash uses to define itself. Zcash offers privacy and selective transparency of transactions. Thus, like https, zcash claims to provide extra security or privacy where all transactions are recorded and published on a blockchain, but details such as the sender, recipient, and amount remain private. Zcash offers its users the choice of “shielded” transactions, which allow for content to be encrypted using advanced cryptographic technique or zero-knowledge proof construction called a zk-SNARK developed by its team. As of February 9, 2019, Zcash had a market cap of $291.25 million and a value per token of $49.84.

In the past 3 days, EthLend (LENDBTC) has been breaking resistance after resistance with increasing volume. The resistances broken are marked on this chart as moving averages. We are looking at the classic EMA10 (green), EMA50 (magenta), and EMA100 (blue). I am now using mainly these because they have been working great for us. With these indicators working...

I want to begin with the following statement: I have never relied on fractals and preferred to argue based on Oscillators and popular TA Patterns. Moreover, I always try to look at the market situation, imagining myself as a market maker (MM) and choose the most suitable combination of actions to take more money from liquidations. However, we all know how...
Litecoin, launched in 2011, was among the initial cryptocurrencies following bitcoin and has often been referred to as “silver to bitcoin’s gold.” It was created by Charlie Lee, an MIT graduate and former Google engineer. Litecoin is based on an open source global payment network that is not controlled by any central authority and uses "scrypt" as a proof of work, which can be decoded with the help of CPUs of consumer grade. Although Litecoin is like bitcoin in many ways, it has a faster block generation rate and hence offers a faster transaction confirmation. Other than developers, there are a growing number of merchants who accept Litecoin. As of February 9, 2019, Litecoin had a market cap of $2.63 billion and a per token value of $43.41.

For takers, fees range from 0.10 to 0.25%. There are no fees for withdrawals beyond the transaction fee required by the network. One of the unique tools on the Poloniex platform is the chat box which is constantly filled with user help and just about everything. Any user can write almost anything but inappropriate comments are eventually deleted by moderators. It can sometimes be hard to distinguish the good advice from the bad, but the Chatbox is a great tool that will keep you engaged.

If a coin isn’t in the top 50 – 100 on CoinMarketCap.com, it is not a safe and sound investment for someone who wants to see a return as a rule of thumb. Once in a while I invest in coins in the 100 – 200 by market cap range, but this is after research and is very case specific. Further down the list we go, the less demand essentially. We want to be in coins that have enough demand to sell them later (hopefully at a profit)!

Central to the appeal and function of Bitcoin is the blockchain technology it uses to store an online ledger of all the transactions that have ever been conducted using bitcoins, providing a data structure for this ledger that is exposed to a limited threat from hackers and can be copied across all computers running Bitcoin software. Every new block generated must be verified by the ledgers of each user on the market, making it almost impossible to forge transaction histories. Many experts see this blockchain as having important uses in technologies such as online voting and crowdfunding, and major financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase see potential in cryptocurrencies to lower transaction costs by making payment processing more efficient. However, because cryptocurrencies are virtual and do not have a central repository, a digital cryptocurrency balance can be wiped out by a computer crash if a backup copy of the holdings does not exist, or if somebody simply loses their private keys.
Dash (originally known as darkcoin) is a more secretive version of bitcoin. Dash offers more anonymity as it works on a decentralized mastercode network that makes transactions almost untraceable. Launched in January 2014, dash experienced an increasing fan following in a short span of time. This cryptocurrency was created and developed by Evan Duffield and can be mined using a CPU or GPU. In March 2015, ‘Darkcoin’ was rebranded to dash, which stands for “digital cash” and operates under the ticker DASH. The rebranding didn't change the functionality of any of its technological features including DarkSend and InstantX. As of February 9, 2019, Dash had a market cap of $640.76 million and a per token value of $74.32.
This mega-powerful currency has not only opened the gate for other currencies, but also leads the cryptocurrency world with pride. It is governed to make sure no extra Bitcoin is produced, as a maximum quantity of 21 Million Bitcoin units was agreed. When introduced, the price of $1 was 1,309 BTC. The wheel has turned and when Bitcoin breached the $2,000 barrier in 2017, meaning 1 BTC was worth $2,000, it was certainly a meaningful milestone to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is pseudonymous rather than anonymous in that the cryptocurrency within a wallet is not tied to people, but rather to one or more specific keys (or "addresses").[41] Thereby, bitcoin owners are not identifiable, but all transactions are publicly available in the blockchain. Still, cryptocurrency exchanges are often required by law to collect the personal information of their users.
