Like Bitcoin, Dash is meant to be used as a digital currency but has some added values such as much faster transaction times and lower fees. For a slightly higher fee, Dash has the added function of “instant send” which allows transactions to be confirmed almost instantly. This is one of the main selling points of Dash because many believe that this feature would allow it to be used in brick and mortar establishments.
But while cryptocurrencies are more used for payment, its use as a means of speculation and a store of value dwarfs the payment aspects. Cryptocurrencies gave birth to an incredibly dynamic, fast-growing market for investors and speculators. Exchanges like Okcoin, poloniex or shapeshift enables the trade of hundreds of cryptocurrencies. Their daily trade volume exceeds that of major European stock exchanges.
While cryptocurrencies are digital currencies that are managed through advanced encryption techniques, many governments have taken a cautious approach toward them, fearing their lack of central control and the effects they could have on financial security.[81] Regulators in several countries have warned against cryptocurrency and some have taken concrete regulatory measures to dissuade users.[82] Additionally, many banks do not offer services for cryptocurrencies and can refuse to offer services to virtual-currency companies.[83] Gareth Murphy, a senior central banking officer has stated "widespread use [of cryptocurrency] would also make it more difficult for statistical agencies to gather data on economic activity, which are used by governments to steer the economy". He cautioned that virtual currencies pose a new challenge to central banks' control over the important functions of monetary and exchange rate policy.[84] While traditional financial products have strong consumer protections in place, there is no intermediary with the power to limit consumer losses if bitcoins are lost or stolen.[85] One of the features cryptocurrency lacks in comparison to credit cards, for example, is consumer protection against fraud, such as chargebacks.
Previous analysis we have bullish flag pattern with projection at 4158, but we take short sell at channel up resistance at 4100 without have to wait flag projection hit. “While it’s still fairly new and unstable relative to the gold standard, cryptocurrency is definitely gaining traction and will most certainly have more normalized uses in the next few years. Right now, in particular, it’s increasing in popularity with the post-election market uncertainty. The key will be in making it easy for large-scale adoption (as with anything involving crypto) including developing safeguards and protections for buyers/investors. I expect that within two years, we’ll be in a place where people can shove their money under the virtual mattress through cryptocurrency, and they’ll know that wherever they go, that money will be there.” – Sarah Granger, Author, and Speaker.

Ethereum: an open-source cryptocurrency launched in 2015 and proposed by Vitalik Buterin, Garvin Wood, and Joseph Lubin. It is based on the blockchain model whose main objective is the decentralization of the market. In 2016 there was a fork from which the Classic Ethereum emerged. Currently and since its inception, Ethereum ranks second in tems of the market capitalization.

Markets are dirty. But this doesn‘t change the fact that cryptocurrencies are here to stay – and here to change the world. This is already happening. People all over the world buy Bitcoin to protect themselves against the devaluation of their national currency. Mostly in Asia, a vivid market for Bitcoin remittance has emerged, and the Bitcoin using darknets of cybercrime are flourishing. More and more companies discover the power of Smart Contracts or token on Ethereum, the first real-world application of blockchain technologies emerge.

There are also purely technical elements to consider. For example, technological advancement in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin result in high up-front costs to miners in the form of specialized hardware and software.[87] Cryptocurrency transactions are normally irreversible after a number of blocks confirm the transaction. Additionally, cryptocurrency private keys can be permanently lost from local storage due to malware, data loss or the destruction of the physical media. This prevents the cryptocurrency from being spent, resulting in its effective removal from the markets.[88]
There are many reasons why the digital currencies are gaining popularity and momentum around the world. They have a finite supply that has been identified and source codes outline the exact number that can exist. Users of this currency benefit differently from users of traditional currency. For example, governments cannot intervene and banks cannot freeze your account. Since there is a limit on the amount, cryptocurrencies in that sense, are finite commodities, more like metals than a currency, and with time their value could go up. They are attractive to people who worry about direct control of national banks and governments. Privacy and anonymity are key to the ownership of these coins which many people appreciate. It is more and more difficult to identify accounts of users. Generally, transactions are cheaper than the traditional way using banks. Overall cryptocurrencies can change the financial world, and for the moment it is all still being worked on. Users of these coins still do need to remain aware of their limitations and volatility for the time being and foreseeable future. Their price flow is defined for the most part by market demand and thanks to the complicated code involved cryptocurrencies are impossible to counterfeit. They do make for a rewarding albeit uncertain investment endeavour. The long term results are still unknown but cryptocurrencies are only growing in popularity and for the immediate future they are here to stay and will most probably thrive.

Bitcoin is pseudonymous rather than anonymous in that the cryptocurrency within a wallet is not tied to people, but rather to one or more specific keys (or "addresses").[41] Thereby, bitcoin owners are not identifiable, but all transactions are publicly available in the blockchain. Still, cryptocurrency exchanges are often required by law to collect the personal information of their users.
“In 2 years from now, I believe cryptocurrencies will be gaining legitimacy as a protocol for business transactions, micropayments, and overtaking Western Union as the preferred remittance tool. Regarding business transactions – you’ll see two paths: There will be financial businesses which use it for it’s no fee, nearly-instant ability to move any amount of money around, and there will be those that utilize it for its blockchain technology. Blockchain technology provides the largest benefit with trustless auditing, single source of truth, smart contracts, and color coins.”
TIP: The top coins by market cap are usually the best bets. Most of the top coins today were toward the top of the list back in 2015. There are a few coins high on the list today that you should be wary of, for example, Bitconnect. There are a few new ones, like the Bitcoin forks, Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold, that are new to the list. Meanwhile, there are a few that didn’t stand up to the test of time, like Peercoin. As a rule of thumb, historically speaking, the higher the coin is on the list, the more solid it is an investment over time.
If you want to make great gains, it is as easy as picking the right coin in the top 100 and keeping a little Bitcoin on hand. Are you going to get rich over night? Probably not. The reality is, the people who actually make profits at this are 1. the ones who learn to read charts, keep an eye on the news, watch out for pump and dumps, and try to time buys and sells to buy low and sell high of decent coins, with decent volume, and decent market caps (I do this, its hit or miss, but at least I can always place a stop loss and go back to BTC a little up or down), 2. market manipulators (don’t be like them; I am firmly against this and think it hurts cryptocurrency… I would place those who offer scam coins in this category), 3. People who average into coins they think will do well over time, hold, and take incremental profits (I do this, it is my bread and butter, 9 times out of 10 it works better for me than trading; that might say more about me than anything, but I think it also says something about what strategy will work best for the most people).
But I am very confused and not sure who to trust in this crypto world. After reading many comments and news, I found out that most of these brokers are not safe to buy crypto positions from. I live in Norway and I would ask you kindly to advice me which broker I should be able to buy crypto positions from. I signed up with Binance for one week ago, but still did not get any verification yet from them.
Launched in 2015, Ethereum is a decentralized software platform that enables Smart Contracts and Distributed Applications (DApps) to be built and run without any downtime, fraud, control or interference from a third party. The applications on ethereum are run on its platform-specific cryptographic token, ether. Ether is like a vehicle for moving around on the ethereum platform, and is sought by mostly developers looking to develop and run applications inside ethereum, or now by investors looking to make purchases of other digital currencies using ether. During 2014, ethereum launched a pre-sale for ether which received an overwhelming response; this helped to usher in the age of the initial coin offering (ICO). According to ethereum, it can be used to “codify, decentralize, secure and trade just about anything.” Following the attack on the DAO in 2016, Ethereum was split into Ethereum (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC). As of February 9, 2019, Ethereum (ETH) had a market cap of $12.49 billion and a per token value of $118.71.
EOS is also the first blockchain with a constitution. There are governing principles that every stakeholder agrees on, and the set of rules is attached to every block that is mined. EOS will have the capability to process millions of transactions each second using horizontal scaling. This is much different from Bitcoin and Ethereum. The current model also allows for 5 percent inflation, which can be used to further develop the network. In addition, EOS does not require users to pay for each transaction, which will help fuel adoption.
A beginner might prefer to use the Square Cash App or Robinhood. The Square Cash App lets you buy/sell Bitcoin, but it doesn’t net you Bitcoin you can send to an outside wallet. In words, you get exposure to Bitcoin without having to fully learn about crypto wallets and exchanges. It is simple, so it is a decent starting point. Robinhood essentially functions like Square at the moment, but they offer a larger selection of coins than Square and plan to allow transfers in the future. That said, Robinhood isn’t an option in all states.
Litecoin was one of the first cryptocurrencies after Bitcoin and tagged as the silver to the digital gold bitcoin. Faster than bitcoin, with a larger amount of token and a new mining algorithm, Litecoin was a real innovation, perfectly tailored to be the smaller brother of bitcoin. “It facilitated the emerge of several other cryptocurrencies which used its codebase but made it, even more, lighter“. Examples are Dogecoin or Feathercoin.
TokenGazer: Storj V3 is promising but has difficulty in technical development and faces competition from other projects. TokenGazer released the Storj (STORJ) rating report: Storj overall rating: 3.5; indicator trend: outperform. Storj is trying to reduce redundancy and storage costs with a more complicated technical design, and adopts a more user-friendly pricing strategy. Storj V3, which is planned to launch in 2019, features multiple technical upgrades. Based on Storj's current network usage, TokenGazer believes that its capitalization is below the estimate value range, but it has difficulty in technical development and faces competition in the market.
